And Finally, can you imagine working for a company that has a little more

This link goes to the Yavapai Humane Society website. The Humane Society functions as a non-profit organization that helps to end animal abuse and homelessness. They are considered a no kill animal shelter. They earn their money by holding adoptions and bake sales and such. They have a set up for cat adoptions in PetSmart where I am currently employed so I get to see how their adoptions work. Every Sunday they will also come in and show off there dogs for adoption. I always love seeing the dogs (both old and young) get adopted out into caring, loving, forever homes. The Humane Society's motto is "Every animal counts." I think of how many people over look this or just don't care. It makes me think of how only a few of us are willing to help those lesser than us and how those who to can become outcasts themselves. I give kudos to the Humane Society for sticking up for what is the caring and correct thing to do.

This is a blog by Daina Jehling. She is my roommates mother-in-law and is associated with P.A.W.S Animal Rescue, an organization located in Illinois. P.A.W.S. is also a no kill animal rescue focesed on getting unwanted animals off the streets. Ms. Jehling is very passionate about animals, especially dogs. She has two dogs, a lab and a poodle mix, named Watson and Rose. She helps P.A.W.S. out with the funding as the chairperson of the spring plant sale. Ms. Jehling is doing an extraordinary service not just to animals but to our country by helping to get homeless, abandoned animals off the street and in to wonderful homes which is the goal us animal lovers are striving for.

In this article from the Furry Flier they talk about puppy mills, anniversaries, their big events, and, of course, the adoptions. Puppy mills is defiantly a big thing to talk about in the animal rescue world. Puppy mills is how most of the puppies come in to the shelter. A puppy mill is basically where greedy people make dogs breed and have a lot of babies so they can make a ton of money off of them. They also have a lot of big events they have going on in IL. They have events like bake sales and walk-a-thons and their annual Tag days. They are celebrating their 28th annual tag day starting on July 28th. Last they have all of their most touching adoption success stories. My favorite part to read in any adoption magazine. To hear how they can make a difference and give a living being a second chance moves me to the core.

Here is an article from Wikipedia that describes the purpose and different types of animal rescues. It is a very good description and it has even helped me to learn more about rescues so I will be able to run my rescue better. This is a very informative article and goes into a good description of how rescues work and what their purpose is. It talks about no kill shelters and non profits and much more. I believe this is a good article for anyone who wants to know more about any type of animal rescue.

Animal Rescue
When I am finished with my schooling I want to own a no-kill animal rescue. I choose this profession because animals are my passion. I want to be able to help them to get off the street and into safe loving homes. I recently lost my dog who was killed by a speeding truck. I do not want any other animals to meet the same fate and the only way I can think to do that is to keep them off the street. I have had my passion for animals since I was a little kid. I have always enjoyed the company of our dogs and horses growing up and my love for them just never left.
I am planning on getting my degree in business management so that when I do have my animal rescue I will be able to run it efficiently. I want to be able to do everything I can to supply for the animals and keep them healthy, happy, and safe. My shelter will not be like other no-kill shelters though. I will give any pet at least one try instead of turning away the aggressive ones or the sick. The only time I would euthanize is if the animal was too sick or aggressive. I want to make a happier place for the unwanted animals in our world.
